WWE finally caught on to the fact that women can wrestle!! Cue massive applause, cheers and all that jazz. But let’s be honest, the women are STILL being overlooked! Usually, unless it’s a big four PPV, then there is only ever one women’s match on the card, the fact that there is three (one albeit on the pre show) on TLC is a fucking miracle. With a legitimate gang of women down in NXT, and only the same women used constantly on the Main Roster, its about time there was a separate brand.
Think about it, just have it as a duplicate Main Roster. One main title, a United States Championship, a Intercontinental Championship and Tag Championships! That way the women aren’t all clustered around one belt, fighting over it like the last slice of pizza. Have it on a Friday night so it doesn’t clash with Impact (they still have viewers so let’s let them keep them), shove it on USA (they are always clamouring for more WWE content) and make it two hours. I can guarantee it will be popular.
It’s going to get to a point when women début on the main roster and just be overlooked. Look at Tamina Snuka. Came to WWE and has been placed in bodyguard after bodyguard role, sure she’s been in qualifying matches for number one contenderships, but hasn’t had a title run in the seven years she’s been in WWE. Or Natalya who became SmackDown Champion, seven years after being Divas Champion and she’s had to watch the likes of Alexa Bliss, Charlotte and Sasha Banks have multiple reigns. That’s no knock on the other women, both Natalya and Tamina could have held other belts if other belts were available.
WWE has a habit of booking the same people over and over. Yeah, they bring in money, but there is no harm in having other belts for women to win. It works fantastically for the men, I believe it can be just as successful for the women. With a separate brand for the women, matches can also become longer instead of still being pitifully short. It will also stop being such a shock women main eventing or doing stipulation matches.
In short, a separate brand for the women, could really save the women’s division from fading, and help it become something even more spectacular.
