I’m sick to death of people saying because Kofi is still with The New Day and jumps around all happy and throwing pancakes he’s not a good Champion. There’s no description of what a Champion should or shouldn’t be/do, cut and paste Champions that are exactly the same are boring as hell. Kofi has deserved this Championship reign for a very long fucking time and him still being in New Day doesn’t take anything away from his reign.
I’ve enjoyed every feud that Kofi has had with the Championship, he’s had excellent matches with every one of the wrestlers. Let’s not forget, he threw himself out of the fucking Steel Cage to make sure Dolph Ziggler didn’t win the WWE Championship. Kofi’s booking has been solid as hell and not a single match he’s had has been dull, only a few weeks ago he took on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn one after the other, to then have Samoa Joe wrap him in the Coquina Clutch. The next night, he stuck his middle finger up to Joe like it was nothing, that’s badass. Every promo Kofi does is still full of passion, something that is likely to not fade going forward.
Kofi being Champ is extremely inspirational, he went back to his home country of Ghana where he was welcomed like a King, the children of Ghana (and around the world) have a Champion that looks like them, which is something that’s huge. Kofi is different from the generic face Champion, it’s something refreshing, different and entertaining, he’s super over with the crowd which is largely what WWE wants from their Champion.
Kofi is showing everyone why he’s deserved this Championship reign, it’s just a pity that there’s a lot of miserable pricks shitting all over it.
