Carmella is a brilliant wrestler and her character is absolutely fantastic, currently she’s working with R-Truth as a completely hilarious duo. Carmella is a one time SmackDown Women’s Champion and the longest Miss Money In The Bank.
Carmella applied to be a part of Tough Enough in 2010, but pulled out to become an Laker Girl and she moved to LA, three years later Carmella found her way back to WWE and signed to NXT. Her debut was as a hairdresser with Enzo Amore and Big Cass, she then appeared saying she lost her job due to the actions of Amore and Cass, she then announced she wanted a position in NXT. Carmella’s in ring debut was against an unknown wrestler dubbed only as Blue Pants, Carmella defeated her on two occasions but then lost to her due to an accidental distraction from Amore.
Carmella became manager for Amore and Cass during their feud with Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake, Carmella had a match with their manager – Alexa Bliss but lost due to a distraction from Blake and Murphy. Carmella has a feud with Eva Marie and in January (2016) she won a Battle Royal for a shot at Bayley’s NXT Women’s Championship in which she lost. Carmella appeared on the main roster PPV Roadblock accompanying Enzo Amore and Big Cass with their match against The Revival for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Once Amore and Cass were called-up to the main roster, Carmella became a solo star and even had another chance to go for the NXT Women’s Championship, however she lost in the qualifying match after being pinned by Nia Jax.
In July of that year, Carmella was called up to SmackDown in the brand split and her first main roster win was against Natalya. Carmella lost at SummerSlam alongside Becky Lynch and Naomi after a returning Nikki Bella pinned her. On the SmackDown afterwards, Carmella attacked Nikki and the two began to feud. Carmella took part in a six-pack elimination match at Backlash to decide the inaugural SmackDown Women’s Championship, she was the last to be eliminated by Becky Lynch. Carmella also took part in the 5 on 5 Survivor Series Match in which she was the first to be eliminated. Carmella lost to Nikki Bella at TLC thus ending their feud, she also exposed Natalya as the one who attacked Nikki Bella taking her out of the Survivor Series Match.
Carmella then began teaming with James Ellsworth after proclaiming she found him uniquely attractive, Ellsworth began accompanying her to the ring and even walked her down to the ring at WrestleMania 33. Carmella teamed with Natalya and Tamina Snuka as The Welcoming Committee, they feuded with Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Naomi, The Welcoming Committee were victorious at that years Backlash. Carmella became a participant in the first ever Women’s Money In The Bank in which she won, even though James Ellsworth climbed the ladder to grab the briefcase for her. Two nights later, Carmella was stripped of the briefcase but she won it again that night this time with no help from Ellsworth.
Carmella broke her partnership with James Ellsworth after he lost an Intergender Match against Becky Lynch, Carmella took part in the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble in 2018 but was eliminated by former rival Nikki Bella, she also took part in the first ever Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34 but was the first one eliminated by Sonya Deville. Two nights after WrestleMania, Carmella cashed in her MITB contract on Charlotte Flair after a debuting IIconics attacked her. Carmella was now SmackDown Women’s Champion.
Carmella entered into a feud with Asuka, they had a match at Money In The Bank in which Carmella retained due to a distraction from a returning James Ellsworth dressed as Asuka. Carmella retained against Asuka once more at Extreme Rules, Carmella lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam after being pinned by Charlotte in a Triple Threat Match along with Becky Lynch. As her title reign came towards its end, R-Truth was saying he wanted a title match against Carmella in typical R-Truth fashion. In the end, Carmella agreed to manage Truth against his match against The Miz so his wife Maryse couldn’t interfere. Afterwards, she became his manager full-time, fun and dance breaks ensued, at the first ever all Women’s PPV – Evolution Carmella even had a dance break with WWE Legend Ivory.
Carmella and Truth became partners on the second season of Mixed Match Challenge, they lost the first three matches before defeating Lana and Rusev to get into the playoffs. They then continued to defeat everyone else and won season, their prize was a holiday to anywhere they wanted (Truth decided it would be WWE headquarters) and the last number in their respective Royal Rumble matches. Carmella and Truth had a dance break with the McMahon’s on SmackDown’s 1,000th episode and they even had a dance break as Santa and Mrs Claus on Christmas. Carmella had got pinned by Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat to determine the new SmackDown Women’s Champion, Carmella then teamed with Naomi (after Royal Rumble) as the Fabulous Glow for a chance to become the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Champions at Elimination Chamber.
Carmella, is definitely going to become an even bigger star in WWE. She’s already made a huge impact on SmackDown and is only going to win more Championships.
